Thumbs up Thank You....A CCB8/VTF15H-MK2 Story...

I will start by saying I've been "into" low level home theater/audio for over 20 years starting in the mid 90's with a HTIB system that everyone who came over raved about because anything beyond TV speakers was "high end".

Early this year when I had some of my 5.2 Denon/Pioneer/KLH franken system items get damaged in a storm I went to a local brick and mortar and picked up a full 7.2.4 (T50s/T30c/T15s/PSW108x2) set of entry level polks and appropriate receivers to run them because I had always had a hodgepodge of speakers in some sort of 5.x and I wanted to start stepping up my listening experience.

I was never really happy with the polk setup and thought it was centered around the bass so in November I splurged and bought myself the VTF15hMK2 for my birthday.

I had never been so happy with an audio purchase in my life. As I continued dialing in the system, it was rapidly becoming clear that my entry level polk speakers were actively affecting my listening experience in a negative way.

After a couple weeks of going to the local Magnolia and Ovation audition rooms listening to their 1-2k $ / pair speakers (B&W/DefTech/Martin Logan/Paradigm) and reading about the CCB 8s, I decided that I was going to trust the company that had already changed my dual purpose home theater experience significantly.

I received my L/C/R CCB8s on Tuesday and have spent about 3-4 hours trying to get them dialed in.

Last night my wife and I were listening to "Acoustic Christmas" playlist on spotify and we were both floored at how crisp, clear and precise the sound was. It was like we were in a completely different home, listening to someone else's system.

I'll be filling out the rest of my primary listening plane with CCB 8's after christmas sometime because the CCB 8 is so clear and precise they blow everything else I've listened to, often 3-5x more expensive than the CCB 8s, out of the water, even in my "difficult" dual purpose space.

Thank you Hsu Research for changing what's possible for me to experience in my home.

A special thanks also to Kevin who answered many calls, patiently explained everything I asked about, allowed me to compare notes with him about listening experiences and offered up suggestions that were spot on and contributed directly to my listening happiness!

I'll try to post a pic in the next day or two of the happy "Hsu Family" residing at my place.

Hey there!

Thank you so much for your kind words. We really appreciate you choosing our subs and speakers for your audio setup! Glad to hear that you are enjoying the VTF-15H Mk2 and CCB-8's. Did you wind up running them with both ports open? That's a very nice setup and I am really liking that tree.

I am running the sub in 1 port open and the CCB8's with both ports open.

I am planning to do some experimentation but to be honest I'm just enjoying them more than tweaking right now because during the holidays the house is a wreck.

Once we get all that put away I'm going to be looking at adding more CCB 8 to my primary listening plane and hopefully getting some HB1s for my height plane. (currently 7.3.4)

When I put my receiver in full multichannel stereo mode for music it's abundantly apparent how much more clear my CCB 8s are than the rest of my system.

I really can't even describe how pleased I am with my Hsu products, I'll be adding to them as soon as it's responsible to do so haha.
