VTF-1 MK3 not working

I bought an VTF-1 MK3 this last March and happily used it for 3 months until the space below my office became occupied and I didn't want to boom them out. So lately I decided to hook that in as a second sub for my main system and when I did I can't get it to work. I am hoping that this is due to user error! When I plug it in the lights all come on but when I play a signal though it there is no sound. I turned everything off and pulled the rca jack from the sub that is working. I knew there was signal coming through that cable and when I plugged that cable into the VTF-1 MK3 I still didn't get any sound.

Is there something simple that I may be missing? Are there some tests i can do to see what might be amiss? I love the sub and it worked flawlessly when I started using it. Would love any feedback.

Thank you.

Tom

When I had this issue it was a source/switching issue.

I changed sources and it fired right up.

Then I went back to the original source that wasn't originally working and it worked fine.

Is the sub set to "On" or "auto" because I'm fairly sure that mine was set to auto and there was an issue with it auto detecting the input signal.

I would try setting sub to on, then power on your source and try playing.

Secondly you could try swapping back and forth between a couple sources and see if it picks up. Mine did it once right after transport and has been fine ever since.

IndySSD nails it! Thanks so much. I had tried switching back and forth from off to auto to on and it had no impact. But by shutting things down and then setting the sub to "on" and then turning things on it picked it right up! Whew! What a relief. Thanks so much! Tom
