Question Switching the STF-3 & VTF-3 MK 2 from 120 V to 240 V

Of course, the amplifier must be unplugged and then removed from the unit before doing this. Moderate soldering skills are needed. The STF-1, STF-2, and VTF-2 are more easily switched using a simple internal jumper switch.

Instructions follow:

Question Disabling auto-on for the first generation VTF-2 and VTF-3

Note: the MK 2 models have a switch that allows you to disable auto-on without opening up the subwoofer.

Some customers prefer not to have the sub in auto-on mode, so that the sub does not turn off after 30 minutes without a bass signal. To avoid confusion, please know that the vast majority of folks prefer to have the sub turn on and off itself without manual intervention. This is for the other folks.

For those who are somewhat handy with a screwdriver and over 18, we have included these brief instructions for disabling the auto-on for the 150 Watt VTF-2 amplifier and the 250 Watt VTF-3 amplifier. If you break the amp in the process of modifying it, we will not be responsible. Be sure to unplug the unit and wait until the LED light extinguishes before opening up the amp. These instructions are to be followed at your own risk. Although this a simple procedure and nobody we know has every gotten hurt, we will not be responsible for any injuries you may incur while following these instructions or opening the amp.

To open the amp, find a medium phillips screwdriver. A powered screwdriver is preferable. Remove the outermost 12 screws that hold the amp to the cabinet, then the 4 screws in the corners that hold the plate amp to its case. The lower lip of the cabinet will keep the plate amp from sliding down. Gently pull out the top of the plate amp while keeping the bottom half in place. You just need some light and enough room at the top to reach the jumpers on the amplifier's circuit board.

The positions are different on the VTF-2 and VTF-3. For the VTF-2, move the jumper from the "AUTO" position to the "ON" position. The following pictures show where the jumpers are located:

For the VTF-3, move the jumper in the poisition shown below:

Put the plate amp back and screw the screws back in. Your done!

Question Switching the VTF-2 MK 2 / STF-2 / STF-1 to 240 Volts

After the unit is unplugged, remove the screws holding down the amplifier panel, pull out the amplifier, and move the jumpers as illustrated. Put amplifier back.
